What is Physical Therapy?

Physical Therapy is the evaluation and treatment of physical disabilities designed to improve physical strength, range of motion and ability.

From the initial evaluation through recovery, each patient has a licensed physical therapist and a highly skilled rehabilitation team who share a common desire: to restore daily comfort and function. The therapist will review the patient’s past history and the physician’s referral, perform a comprehensive evaluation and develop an individualized treatment program.

Treatable Conditions:

  • Muscle and Joint Pain
  • Post-Operative Conditions
  • Weakness or Loss of Motion
  • Soft-Tissue Injuries
  • Chronic Pain/Fibromyalgia
  • Sports Injuries
  • Industrial Injuries

Program Goals:

  • Return the patient to their previous level of function.
  • Relieve pain and discomfort through hands-on manual treatment.
  • Facilitate return-to-function through stretching, therapeutic exercise, strengthening, modalities, and aquatic therapy.
  • Develop the patient’s understanding of his/her condition through education and prevention programs.
  • Encourage recovery and independence through patient responsibility in a home exercise program.
